The Home Renovation Savings Program launched January 28, 2025, replacing the previous HER+ program. It's delivered by Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy (IESO) with support from the Government of Ontario. The program is part of a $10.9 billion investment in energy efficiency.
Two paths — this is where people get confused
The program offers two ways to get rebates. Choosing the wrong one — or doing things in the wrong order — is how rebates get rejected.
Path 1: Single upgrades
No energy assessment required
- • Heat pump (air-source or ground)
- • Solar panels + battery storage
- • Smart thermostat
- • Attic insulation (standalone, up to $1,250)
Best for: targeted upgrades
Path 2: Bundle & save
Energy assessment required, min 2 upgrades
- • Insulation (up to $7,700 combined)
- • Windows & doors ($100/opening)
- • Air sealing (up to $250)
- • Heat pump water heater ($500)
Best for: deeper renovations
