BC Rebate Rates by Income Tier (2026)
Unlike Ontario which offers flat rates, BC's CleanBC program uses income tiers. Lower-income households get significantly higher rebates. The tiers are based on combined pre-tax household income and number of people in the home.

Critical: You MUST pre-register and receive your eligibility code BEFORE starting work or paying for equipment. Applying after installation = automatic disqualification. Also, only HPCN-registered contractors qualify — self-installation is not eligible.

Yes. Family of 4 under $87,350 = Level 1 (max rebates). Under $114,647 = Level 2. Under $185,620 = Level 3.
Do I need a specific contractor?
Yes — must be HPCN registered. Non-HPCN installations are automatically ineligible.
Can I combine with federal programs?
Federal options have narrowed sharply. The Canada Greener Homes Loan is CLOSED — NRCan states its funding is fully committed and new applications cannot be approved. The federal Oil to Heat Pump Affordability intake closed July 31, 2026. Treat CleanBC as standing on its own, and check NRCan directly before counting on any federal top-up.
What is the property value limit?
Homes assessed over $1.23M may not be eligible for Level 3 rebates in 2026.
